Join us!Job Description:The Consumer Credit Accounting team is part of the Consumer Privacy & Data Management organization and is responsible for the accurate accounting and reporting of modified and non-performing loans in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory guidelines. The team performs various accounting, analysis and reporting activities as part of the monthly accounting close. The team also supports regulatory reporting submissions (SEC filings, FR Y-9C, FR Y-14M/Q, etc.) by ensuring the data provided is accurate and complete and in conformance with FRB/OCC instructions. In addition, the team participates in a variety of data quality and data analysis routines to ensure the integrity of data residing in the accounting systems (CLEAR and Over), the BAC Mortgage Hub application which is the Authorized Data Source (ADS) for residential mortgage data, as well as the BAC Vehicle Hub application, the ADS for vehicle lending data. The team is also involved in audits through interactions with regulators and auditors along with providing requested information and responding to questions. Understand technical or product specific accounting knowledge; Researches and resolves/ processes accounting exceptions; prepares one or more of the following: data, GL balances, disclosures, SEC reporting.Key responsibilities for this role include:Accountable for Loan Modification data integrity, inclusive of 1) Ensure Over Rules Engine meets accounting policy guidelines, 2) Perform weekly and monthly data quality reviews across residential mortgage and auto lending systems of record and pull loan documentation to confirm completeness and accuracy of the Loan Modification portfolio 3) Perform data corrections via system uploadsParticipate in the monthly Loan Modification portfolio lock down by performing monthly data validation reviews and making data correctionsCollaborate with the Loan Servicing line of businesses to remediate data quality issues for daily oversight and support bank initiativesSupport system fixes/enhancements by performing data validations, end user testing (UAT) and post release testingPerform analysis using Microsoft SQL, research issues and provide input for resolutionsComplete monthly and quarterly data reconciliations across Authorized Data Sources (ADS) and systems of recordPrepare and present slides in quarterly Loan Modification Governance Council meetings with executives/stakeholders from various lines of businessSupport the preparation of SEC and regulatory reporting submissionsSupport internal audits and regulatory exams by providing requested loan documentation and data from systems of recordRequired Qualifications:3+ years’ experience in banking/mortgage industry with strong understanding of products and origination/servicing systems2+ years’ experience interpreting, classifying and analyzing data, utilizing MS T-SQLStrong analytical and problem solving skillsStrong Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point skillsAbility to work in a self-directed environment and communicate effectively across all levels of the organizationFoster a positive and inclusive work environmentDesired Qualifications:Knowledge of mortgage and auto lending Loan/Lease AccountingFamiliarity with BAC applications (CLEAR, Over, BMH, MSP, IALS, SBO, CVL ADS)Experience with regulatory reporting requirements such as SEC, FR Y-9C, etc.Skills:Financial AccountingFinancial AnalysisReportingStakeholder ManagementAttention to DetailData Quality ManagementWritten CommunicationsAdvisoryContinuous ImprovementM inimum Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experienceShift:1st shift (United States of America)
