Director of HIM (Medical Records Director)

The Health Information Management (HIM) Director is responsible for coordinating HIM services across the multi-facility integrated healthcare system.The HIM Director shall bring a mix of experience, talent, style and values that will enable them to succeed in a complex, diverse environment and assist in maintaining its status as a leading healthcare provider. An ideal candidate will also bring the following professional experience and affiliation and knowledge base to this important role:Bachelors in Health Information Management.Five years of progressive HIM experience in an acute care setting.Knowledge and experience in information privacy laws, access, release of information, and release control technologies.Knowledge and experience in Electronic Health Records (EHR) implementation and maintenance.Knowledge of federal, state and payer specific regulations, policies, and compliance standards pertaining to documentation, coding, billing, and transaction standards.Current certification as an RHIA with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).Membership in AHIMA and local state association.Health, dental, life, disability and FLEX/HSA benefits available with 403-b option.Salary is commensurate with up to 10 years of experience.The above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this position.
