Scope of Work:

Maintain and operate all Systems, Communications equipment and associated components.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate preventative maintenance on all Systems and Communication equipment.

Perform complex troubleshooting, isolate malfunctions, repair equipment to the component level, and incorporate engineering changes.

Work requires detailed understanding of the interrelationships of RF operating system diagnostics and circuits.

Exercise independent judgment on tasks such as making circuit and waveform analyses, and tracing relationships in signal flow.

Use complex test instruments, such as pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, distortion analyzers, site masters and computer analytical equipment.

Accurately document maintenance actions in IEMS.

Write and review Work Instructions and procedures for all System and Communication Equipment.

Perform organizational, intermediate, and depot-level maintenance on assigned equipment.

Assist other range technicians as required.

Perform corrosion control on all towers and all other communications equipment as required.

Meet the DOD 8570 certifications and requirements for IAT Level 1.

Coordinate frequency usage on all Systems and Communication equipment.

Ensure all personnel are assigned to tasks for which they are qualified.

Identify training requirements and monitor training accomplishment.

Interface with other technicians to ensure coordination of requirements, services and tasking.

Support special tests, evaluations, equipment relocations, and new equipment installations as required.

Coordinate integration efforts with associate contractors.

Ensure all configuration changes are documented and approved IAW established processes.

Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Manager.

Responsible for adhering to environmental, safety, and health standards related to the work activity.

Complete all assigned training to include but not limited to monthly training assigned in SharePoint and government assigned training in TWMS.

Accurately document work performed in Deltek for parent company and prime contractor.

Cross-train and qualify to operate other range systems.

May be required to travel up to 20% in performance of work.

Work is scheduled by the manager or supervisor based on mission schedule and fleet requirements.

Will be operationally qualified at designated tech level within six months of hiring or promotion.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy “C” School or vocational school with formal training in electronic equipment maintenance and/or communications security (COMSEC).

Seven years’ technical experience working with tactical training range systems (or equivalent military experience).

Training in tactical data information links and fundamentals.

Four years’ experience with DRMS (Digital Radio Management System) or similar voice and data IP/UDP multicasting.

Five years’ experience with CMS as a COMSEC Account Manager, Alternate or LE user.

Five years’ experience with SATCOM operations (UHF DAMA, GBS, MUOS, WGS, etc.).

Five years’ electronic maintenance in five or more of the following areas:

Digital/analog signal processing

Communications (multiplexer equipment, VHF, UHF, HF, microwave, fiber-optic)

PC computer systems

DC power supplies

Test equipment

Optical equipment

RF signal processing

Antennas

Low voltage AC equipment

Primary and secondary power equipment

Auto-transfer (UPS) equipment

Able to speak, read, and write English

Able to lift 50 pounds.

Must obtain & maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.

Must obtain & maintain a current RF Radiation Awareness certification.

Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.

Must obtain an interim secret level security clearance.

Must obtain and maintain a fully adjudicated secret level security clearance.

Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting or alone.

Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment.

Highly motivated, flexible, organized, and detail-oriented.

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.

Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.

Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions.

Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary.

Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary.

Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license.

Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy.

Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
