At La Clínica, you will be able to provide primary care in an outpatient setting, allowing you to practice pediatric medicine with a wide scope. You will deliver care to a resilient patient population that is ethnically diverse and medically complex, with the aim of achieving optimal health outcomes and delivering compassionate care. We attract and retain engaged staff by supporting providers in their pursuits of a meaningful role and offering opportunities in mentorship, quality initiatives, and preceptorships. In addition, we are a National Health Service Corps (NHSC) approved site for tax-free loan repayment.Major Areas of Responsibility include but are not limited to:
Provide all aspects of outpatient pediatric care to children from birth through adolescence.Provide routine, acute, urgent, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative medical care to youth, determining appropriate regimen as needed including initiating referrals to medical specialists.Screen and monitor the management of stabilized chronic conditions in asymptomatic and well patients.Attend to and/or admit patients to appropriate hospitals as needed while ensuring 24 hour availability of care to patients by sharing night and weekend call with other physicians.Deliver culturally sensitive well and chronic disease care to a diverse patient population of all ages.Demonstrate flexibility in meeting patients’ needs, and participate in the after-hours call pool and Saturday clinics rotation.Develop a positive rapport with patients and families to foster the physician/patient relationship.Serve as a member of the cross-functional team of providers, consulting with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants on the assessment, management and treatment of complicated cases.Suggest improvements for clinic flow, patient scheduling and service delivery, and collaborate professionally with interdisciplinary team members.Provide direction to medical assistants regarding patient care as needed.Knowledge
Knowledge and experience with Electronic Health Record programs, such as NextGen or Epic.Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities.High degree of interpersonal competence with both staff and patients, and thorough knowledge of evidence-based care.Abilities
Ability to deal courteously and effectively with a diverse patient population.Ability to work courteously and effectively as a team member to support established quality and productivity standards.Ability and willingness to work under pressure and as part of an interdisciplinary team.Demonstrate flexibility and ability to accept changes gracefully.Ability to keep accurate and clear records of patient information.Top-notch time management skills and evidence-based approaches to medical care.English/Spanish proficiency preferred but not required.Experience and Other Certifications
MD/DO degree from a recognized University, one to two years of experience working in primary care clinic setting.Requires board certification in Pediatrics; in the absence of a board certification, candidate must be board eligible and become board certified within 2 years of employment.Requires valid California license and DEA.Must hold a current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certificate; you will have a 30-day grace period to obtain your certificate from the date of hire.
