1Senior Technical Fellow – Visiting Fellowship ProgramDemocracy International (DI) is excited to launch its
Visiting Fellowship Program
in 2024. The Fellowship is designed to advance the expertise of world-class leaders, assist DI in its global mission to foster evidence-driven development grounded in local leadership, and develop/implement transformational new ideas to improve peoples’ lives around the world.This Fellowship program is for mid- to senior-career experts in international development; social, behavioral, or climate scientists; or business leaders who are looking to spend four months embedded with DI teams to bring transformational ideas and action to a thriving and growing international development organization.Working in a dynamic environment, DI’s Senior Fellow(s) will be recognized experts in their own professional sectors and looking to make transformational change through their time with DI. Fellows may bring a background working in government, academia, civil society, or business.
Fellows will be based in the Washington, D.C., area and will work approximately three days a week in DI’s home office in Bethesda, Maryland. This is a 4-month fellowship.The Senior Fellow will:Bring, socialize, develop, and advance transformational ideas across DI’s growth, implementation, learning, and field teams;Create and share compelling ideas, including thought leadership written and oral presentations;Advance key learning questions, developed by the Fellow with DI at the beginning of the Fellowship;Produce an inception and final Fellowship report documenting contributions to the field/sector.Qualifications:15+ years of experience in international development, academia, business, civil society, or related relevant background;Demonstrated passion for advancing democracy, peace, and/or international development;Willingness to transform ideas into action;Demonstrated ability to deliver compelling written and verbal communication;Ability to take initiative, function independently, and exercise good judgment;Fluency in English and excellent writing and communications skills;Ability to work in-person (part-time) at our Bethesda, MD office.Start Date:
