$65-$68//hrJob Summary:
The GIS Spatial Analyst will perform intermediate to advanced geographic analyses, including cost-benefit analyses, system design, geo-processing, and modeling requirements. This role involves supporting GIS projects through comprehensive requirements analysis, system design, project management, and technical documentation. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with the latest Esri software suite (both desktop and web platforms) and be skilled in Python, Arcade, Oracle, SQL, and Structured Query Language (SQL) writing. This position will also contribute to system prototyping, acceptance testing, and program design.Key Responsibilities:
Advanced GIS Analysis : Conduct cost-benefit analyses, system design, geo-processing, and modeling based on project needs and goals.System Design & Requirements : Perform GIS requirements analysis and system design to support spatial data management and visualization efforts.Project Management : Manage GIS projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery of system designs, prototypes, and analysis.GIS Software Expertise : Utilize the latest Esri software suite, including both desktop and web platforms, for GIS analysis and spatial data management.Programming & Automation : Use programming languages such as Python and Arcade to automate GIS workflows and perform complex data analysis.Database Management : Work with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle and SQL to manage GIS databases and write complex SQL queries for data extraction and analysis.Prototyping & Testing : Develop system prototypes and conduct acceptance testing to ensure GIS systems meet business and technical requirements.Technical Documentation : Produce clear and comprehensive documentation for GIS system designs, procedures, and testing outcomes.Required Qualifications:
At least five (5) years of experience as a GIS Spatial Analyst, conducting advanced analyses and system design.Proficiency with Esri’s latest software suite, including ArcGIS Desktop and web platforms.Strong programming skills in Python and Arcade for geo-processing and data automation.Experience with RDBMS, specifically Oracle and SQL, including writing and optimizing SQL statements.Proven experience in GIS requirements analysis, project management, and system design.Ability to develop system prototypes and conduct acceptance testing.Excellent communication skills and experience creating technical documentation.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with government or public sector GIS projects.Knowledge of additional programming languages or GIS tools for enhanced data processing.Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
