Design Release Engineer - Glazing

ResponsibilitiesDesign, release and launch of glazing and mechanisms of a state-of-the-art car.Create cutting edge glazing systems focusing on quality, reliability, functionality, mass and cost efficiency.Coordinate engineering designs and systems with purchasing, suppliers, testing team, manufacturing team, other vehicle subsystems and functions.Work with suppliers to create specifications and requirements of the components.Provide technical support and system analysis for root cause analysis of development issues.Provide technical leadership for sophisticated component or technology development.Provide professional reports and documentation for the system with information provided by design responsible engineers.Coordinate, lead and participate in design reviews.Travel as required.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering plus 3 years relevant experience.2+ years of experience in vehicle glazing and mechanisms design & development. This includes design related experience: Windshield, Quarter Glasses, Roof Glass and Rear Glass.Knowledge and working experience with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).Familiarity with the engineering design components.CATIA V5 or V6 knowledge and working experience in 3D and drawing creation and modification.Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements.
