Job Summary and Qualifications

The Manager of Infection Prevention ensures high quality, patient-centered care by coordinating the hospital-wide Infection Control Program, which includes surveillance, analysis, and reporting of nosocomial infections, education of staff, and the development of hospital policies and procedures to ensure rigorous infection control standards that meet regulatory requirements. In collaboration with the Infection Prevention (IP) Committee, the Manager of Infection Prevention makes decisions relative to the surveillance, prevention, and control of infections and blood-borne pathogens. The Manager of Infection Prevention develops and maintains policies and procedures that support successful quality/patient safety outcomes and ongoing improvement in the delivery of healthcare to patients, identification of areas of opportunity, and coordination and execution of regulatory compliance programs in accordance with federal, state and local agencies.

What qualifications you will need:

Bachelors Degree, required.

Master's Degree in Health Related Field, preferred.

5+ years experience in a clinical setting, required.

2+ years experience in Infection Control, required.

Certification in Infection Control, required.

Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse or licensed professional in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation, required.

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is a 488-bed facility. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and offer a wide range of medical specialties. These specialties include emergency care, heart, and vascular care. We are designated by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. Other specialties include maternity and neonatal care. We are a Level II NICU hospital. HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is CARF accredited for inpatient rehabilitation. Our facility offers a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. This program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. We are affiliated with HCA Florida Healthcare Division. HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Augustine, Florida. We serve as Miami-Dade County’s only Catholic hospital.
