Central Time.This role provides technical consultation and strategic direction to the workforce, project teams, and leadership on a wide range of Health, Safety, and Environmental issues spanning the life cycle of company assets. It involves collaboration with employees, leaders, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, manage risk, and assure safeguards are in place and functioning. Positions in this job category have responsibilities associated with all three HSE areas (health, safety, and environment).Leads projects of medium scope and complexity, often impacting across work groups or at the BU level. Requires detailed knowledge of the work function and general knowledge of related work functions.Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:Development of permitting strategy and delivery of permit applications to the US Army Corps, US Fish and Wildlife Service, US Coast Guard, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and other state, local, and federal entities, in a manner that meets project execution timelines.Significant collaboration and coordination across the project team, legal, consultants, multiple business units, external partners, and agency personnel.Agency negotiations in alignment with internal stakeholders and external partners.Providing regulatory guidance on matters related to Chevron New Energies projects in coordination with legal resources.Coordinate with Chevron Advocacy team on permitting and align permitting and stakeholder engagement approach with Chevron’s broader objectives and advocacy efforts.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's of Science or Arts.Demonstrated ability to move projects through complex regulatory and permitting requirements.Demonstrated strategic thinker and effective project manager, able to influence internal and external stakeholders while overseeing technical permitting and project activity.Demonstrated ability to communicate concisely and effectively in all directions, with experience in negotiation and communication with permitting agencies.Proven track record of building positive working relationships and influencing beyond authority.Ability to drive program and regulatory activities while addressing short- and long-term financial implications.Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams, including different regulatory agencies.Ability to mentor team members to increase organizational capability.Preferred Qualifications:Technical degree in environmental science, engineering, geology, or related disciplines preferred, but not necessary.Demonstrated ability to effectively work with partner companies outside of Chevron.Competency in subsurface technical fundamentals is considered a plus (geology, hydrogeology, etc).Experience with GHG accounting and permitting programs.Relocation Options:
