We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment, and who have exceptional communication, analytical, and management skills.Our Traffic Engineer II performs conventional and moderately-complex engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline. The Engineer at this level is proficient in the utilization of standard engineering theories and practices, and company procedures. Candidates should have experience in preparing traffic impact studies and developing and assessing design and/or operational alternatives in accordance with local, state, and federal policies and requirements. Willingness to travel to supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected.Responsibilities:Work with a team of engineers and technicians designing and producing a variety of traffic engineering projects.The responsibilities will include assisting in analysis, design, and implementation of projects such as traffic impact studies, traffic operations studies, capacity analysis, traffic signal design, signal timing, signing, striping, and traffic control plans.Provide support for other engineering activities as required. May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project.Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.Qualifications:5 years or more of Traffic/Transportation Engineering experience.Background in performing traffic counts, travel time runs, and roadway element inventories.Traffic signal design and signal timing development tools experience.Familiarity with MUTCD and HCM.Working knowledge of traffic analysis and simulation software (Synchro, HCS, VISSIM), as well as Microstation or AutoCAD is essential.Proficient working knowledge of, and strong hands-on experience with, major types of technical analyses.Exposure to transportation issues in a greater metropolitan region and ability to work with stakeholders.Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related degree from an accredited institution.PE Registration is preferred.Minimum Clearance Required to Start:Not Applicable/None.
