OverviewThe Senior H&H Modeler will play a key role in conducting complex analysis of water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. They will provide technical direction, conduct modeling and analysis of stormwater, wastewater collection, and water distribution systems for private and public clients. This includes leading quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks as well as applying and developing advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes to generate deliverables that meet project/deliverable specifications. Responsibilities include defining and implementing QA/QC measures for modeling projects, performing complex H&H modeling tasks, and directing junior staff on novice and intermediate modeling tasks. They will be responsible for deliverables and presentation of results to clients as well as to FEMA through standard reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

Defining and implementing QA/QC measures to ensure the highest quality of deliverables.

Developing H&H models for watershed flood studies and urban drainage systems.

Directing junior modelers on intermediate modeling tasks.

Sealing and delivering model results and reports to clients and FEMA.

Working with project managers to develop scope language and associated fees for requested work.

Qualifications

Must have a professional engineering license and a minimum of 10 years of urban water modeling experience.

Must be qualified to perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control on water system models developed by Junior Modelers.

Must be proficient in developing 1D/2D watershed models using HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS and urban/closed system models using XPSWMM, PCSWMM, ICM and other industry leading software packages.

Must be proficient in developing water distribution and sewer collection models using MikeUrban+, SWMM, ICM, InfoWater, WaterGEMs or other industry leading software packages.

Must be proficient in using Python and GIS for model development and analysis of model results.

Must be able to develop and write Python scripts to access databases, extract data, perform geoprocessing and analysis of datasets and results.

Must be able to direct and delegate work to Junior Modelers.

Must be able to provide technical expertise and leadership in the project planning and proposal phases.

Must have average communication skills, both verbal and written and be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
