A Hospital Unit Service Coordinator manages provider orders including scheduling patient appointments, answers telephones, and interacts with patients, families, MDs, RNs, and other departments in person and on the phone. Provides patient care support under the direction of licensed personnel. Cross trains to other units as needed. Maintains a courteous receptive atmosphere for patients, public, and other staff throughout the organization. Navigates computer systems in order to complete daily tasks. Schedules procedures in department's Epic Snapboard. This position is crucial to infant security.Will be required to work at both our La Jolla and Hillcrest locations.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Two (2) years previous experience as a unit secretary/coordinator or similar function in a large, complex healthcare environment.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong data entry skills and/or keyboard training.Superb customer service skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.Two (2) years college/technical school.Medical Terminology Certificate.Prior experience in women and/or infant health.Proficiency with Epic, UCSD Paging & Scheduling Systems.Bilingual: Spanish/English.Database management.SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.Per diem shift requirement is an average of 1 shift per week per 4-week schedule. Must be available 1 weekend shift per 4-week schedule and a minimum of 1 holiday. This is subject to change based on individual department needs.Pay Transparency ActAnnual Full Pay Range: $61,700 - $61,700 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)Hourly Equivalent: $29.55 - $29.55Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
