LNG Project Engineer

Our client is seeking a Full-Time LNG Project Engineer to support a US based LNG export facility and service the global demand for North American natural gas. This Louisiana-based position will support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies.

Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary contact for technical coordination between the EPC contractor and owner-furnished equipment suppliers. Work with home office engineering to resolve any technical issues that arise on-site.Actively participate in the project's safety program by conducting safety walks, attending safety reviews, and incorporating safety considerations into designs, procedures, and activities.Manage the RFI (Request for Information) process related to the liquefaction scope, ensuring clear communication between the EPC contractor and equipment suppliers.Review and provide feedback on drawings issued by the EPC contractor and equipment suppliers.Identify and address quality issues related to defective or non-conforming workmanship or materials. Collaborate closely with the construction team to ensure all work meets project specifications and quality standards.Research and address code compliance issues, securing necessary approvals in consultation with subject matter experts.Attend kick-off and review meetings, interacting with EPC contractors to ensure alignment and progress.Support the systems completion process by managing the completion of ITRs (Inspection Test Records) and PLIs (Punch List Items), ensuring that issues are resolved promptly.Assist with commissioning activities for liquefaction systems, ensuring that all pre-requisites are met and coordinating interfaces as needed.Participate in the management of change processes, ensuring that any changes are effectively communicated and implemented.Review installation plans and ensure that all requirements are clearly communicated to the construction team. Actively support and communicate constructability concerns to discipline engineers.Stay informed on industry standards, regulatory codes, and company requirements, applying this knowledge to the project.Assist in the development and review of turnover dossiers to ensure completeness and accuracy.Attend project progress meetings, providing updates on site engineering activities and deliverables.Build and maintain strong relationships with contractor project engineering counterparts.Understand and communicate contractual requirements to the project team.Consistently support the project's safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives.

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.At least 5 years of experience in the design, construction, or operation of petrochemical infrastructure. Experience in representing asset owners in these roles is a plus.Broad knowledge of general engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation & control.Ability to work effectively within a global team and collaborate with diverse cultures.Experience managing projects with multiple interfaces.Willingness to travel domestically as required.Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for deliverables.Experience with cryogenic or liquefaction systems is advantageous.Familiarity with systems completion, commissioning, or turnaround activities is preferred.Ability to read and interpret detailed construction drawings and specifications, including P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and single-line diagrams.Excellent technical, practical, and communication skills.
