Interventional Cardiovascular (Pre-Op) Admission & Recovery (ICAR) is seeking a full-time (3x12hr shifts/week) Registered Nurse with Pediatric nursing experience. Day/Eve/Night rotating shifts (minimal nights).

Preferred candidates will have experience on a cardiac unit or with cardiac patients, including experience in ICU, ED, IMCU, or PACU.

We are located on the ground floor of the Inova Schar Heart & Vascular Center - Fairfax Medical Campus. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented unit with an emphasis on multidisciplinary collaboration. Many opportunities for growth and involvement in the unit and hospital initiatives.

High acuity, acute setting with flexible scheduling - must be available to work

all

of the following shifts to include Days, Evenings, Nights: 6am-6pm, 7am-7pm, 10am-10pm, 11am-11pm, 7pm-7am (minimal nights and weekend requirements).

Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure care of outpatient and inpatient populations.Electrophysiology procedures: pacemaker/ICD placement, Micra pacemaker, ablations - VT, SVT, A-Fib, A-Flutter, Watchman.Cardiac catheterization procedures: left and right heart caths, heart biopsies, ASD/PFO closures, carotid stents.Interventional Radiology procedures: angiograms, chemoembolization, IVS filter, Mediports, thrombolysis, venograms, G/J tube placements, nephrostomy and biliary tubes.

Requirements:

*Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care setting is required (strongly prefer experience on a cardiac unit or with cardiac patients to include ICU, ED, IMCU or PACU).

Education:

BSN from an accredited school of nursing.

If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.*BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required and ACLS strongly preferred (must obtain within the first 3 months).*RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.*Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills.*Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others.*Proficient computer skills required.
