Position Summary:The phlebotomist performs pre-analytic phases of clinical specimen collection and preparation primarily in an outpatient setting but may be requested to work in other areas of the lab as needed.Essential Job Functions:

The identification of essential functions below is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties that may be assigned to this position, nor does it restrict the duties which may be assigned to this position if such duties reasonably relate to the position.LAB SVCS_Performs the full range of duties from specimen procurement through specimen processing by using laboratory equipment and devices. 80%LAB SVCS_ Acts as a resource for the lab by handling and triaging inquiries to the appropriate personnel, including giving out lab reports and delivering specimens to the appropriate division. 20%What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

Technical knowledge of lab procedures, functions and processes gained through education, experience or a combination of the twoStrong written and verbal communication skillsState of California Phlebotomy License (Certified Phlebotomy Tech I)Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned dutiesMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health SystemPreferred Qualifications:

Prefer one year of phlebotomy experience or completion of UCI phlebotomy programLicenses and Certifications:
