Medical, dental vision, 401k and many other benefits are available without a waiting period.Summary:The Senior Systems Engineer works with internal and external customers and stakeholders to develop system/subsystem architectural models, define requirements and verification methods, and manage risk for guided munition programs. Collaborates with Program Managers to balance technical scope with cost, schedule, resources, and risk. Recommends system engineering tools, defines processes, and leads continuous improvement activities. Supports business development and works with customers and suppliers for product development.Performs requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, decision analysis and trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation, and interface definition studies of system/subsystem elements with minimal supervision of the lead systems engineer.

Develops and documents system architecture using model-based design practices.Performs customer requirements analysis, develops system requirements, and defines allocations to lower levels (subsystems, hardware, software).Creates, manages, and validates requirement databases; establishes verification methods and maintains requirement traceability; and produces requirement verification trace matrices.Plans and implements system integration and verification programs to ensure the system meets all requirements. Includes development and execution of hardware and software test procedures.Researches and analyzes data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.Assists in the establishment of milestones and schedules for major systems engineering projects.Performs technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and effectiveness analyses for subsystem and system elements.Provides leadership and/or direction to lower level employees, and leads technical tasks for small teams or projects.Leads or participates in development of Statement of Work documents.Participates as a technical lead with Guidance, Navigation, and Control system subcontractors.Leads and participates in continuous improvement activities to advance performance of the Systems Engineering group.Coordinates risk management activities at the system and subsystem level.Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system design weaknesses.Performs Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) at functional and component levels.Leads formal root cause analysis efforts.Plans and supports generation of technical documents and presentation materials.Presents technical briefings to internal and external customers.Supports business development by providing engineering support for proposals.

Major Position Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support.Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations.Monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately.Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures.Works with others to establish and improve processes and procedures.May have sole responsibility for projects and participate in disaster recovery exercises.

Basic Qualifications

Required Education:Associate's DegreeGeneral Engineering or specialized Engineering degree required5-7 years experience in a relevant functionPreferred Education:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Requires at least 8 years related experience in Systems Engineering, preferably in the Aerospace or Defense industry. Advanced degree may substitute for some experience requirements.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Technical ExpertiseAnalytical thinking skillsProblem-solving skillsProficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)Physical Demands:Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.Travel Requirements:Less than 25% travel likelyThe above statements describe the general nature and level of work only.

Pay Range (USD)

74,550.00 - 138,450.00
