The incumbent is responsible for teaching Obstetrics nursing courses with both classroom and clinical components as well as some medical surgical nursing courses as needed. The position is primarily evenings, with some day requirements, and occasional weekends as needed to meet the needs of the program and students. Courses may be offered in a face-to-face, hybrid, or online format. The position also includes developing and improving curricula, instructing assigned courses consistent with syllabi, evaluating student learning, advising, and fostering student success.Salary: Determined by Education and ExperienceClassification Information

Plans, organizes, and instructs courses as assigned by the Department Chairperson/supervisor, utilizing effective and engaging instructional strategies.Demonstrates best practices in instruction and classroom management that respond to students’ diverse academic needs.Uses instructional technology including multimedia to meet students’ learning needs.Assists or leads in planning and/or developing new curriculum and courses, as assigned.Participates in the planning and implementation of Student Learning Outcomes Assessment (SLOA).Serves as an advisor for students, utilizing effective advisement strategies.Assists students toward the successful completion of course(s) by providing outreach, guidance, feedback, and other approved forms of academic support.Maintains adequate and timely student records.Works as a team member with other faculty and staff to facilitate College and academic program operations.Assists in attaining and maintaining program accreditation.Completes the New Faculty Development Program (NFDP) during the one-year probationary period.Continues professional development/growth and a commitment to continuous improvement as an instructor.Participates in departmental/campus/College meetings and serves on campus or collegewide committees.Participates in developing and implementing college policies, objectives, and/or functions.Participates in day, evening, and weekend program staffing, as requested.Performs other related duties as required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of effective and engaging instructional techniques and methods. Ability to develop and use teaching strategies that will promote successful learning by addressing different learning styles and strategies.Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a Master’s degree in Nursing. Four (4) years of relevant work experience in nursing that includes primary focus in adult medical surgical and obstetrics. Possession of, or eligibility for, a valid license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Delaware or compact state at time of application and during employment in this position.
