MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science and at least 5 years of experience.Experience with virtualization technologies, VMware vSphere or Red Hat Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM).Intermediate level knowledge of Linux based systems, scripting languages (e.g. Python), and tools such as Ansible to streamline configuration management, automation, and security hardening.Must currently hold a DoD 8570-compliant IAT II certification (SSCP or Security+ CE with appropriate CE/OS certificate) or be able to obtain within six months.Experience with maintaining and debugging networking test equipment including switches, routers, and traffic generators.Familiarity with Navy documentation processes for installation, ability to read and interpret schematics for technical packages, such as AutoCAD or equivalent.Knowledge of networking concepts such as IP, routing, UDP, TCP, and the OSI model.Minimum 5 years of experience, at least two of those years to include supporting military systems.Minimum two years of experience as a functional lead or supervisory experience.Intermediate level experience with Ansible and Bash.Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.Experience managing complex tasks, scheduling site visits, and interfacing with government customers.Travel required: 10-40%.DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:Minimum of three+ (3+) years of Linux administration experience.Splunk familiarity including administration, dashboard configuration, troubleshooting, and data monitoring.Working knowledge of U.S. Navy drawing standards and ability to edit/review drawings that detail the connectivity between C2 systems.Lead development of technical data package deliveries to the customer with mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics including developing a detailed Bill of Materials (BOM).Intermediate level knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python) and techniques for automation.Experience writing test scripts and data collection scripts using third party APIs and interfaces.Experience developing automation frameworks for a networked testbed.Desired knowledge base with CANES and ADNS.Demonstrated experience with best test practices, including formal, requirements-based testing.Experience developing within a CI/CD software automation framework.Experience with Git or other software management tools.Ability to express ideas, planning, and analysis both verbally and in writing.SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL WITH TOP SECRET / SCI ELIGIBILITY.ABOUT USScientific Research Corporation is an advanced information technology and engineering company that provides innovative products and services to government and private industry, as well as independent institutions. #LI-JC1]PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Works with NIWC stakeholders, development and support teams to ensure the platforms are integrated, available, and up-to-date.Acts as site lead for technical team, including completion of program manager responsibilities.Troubleshoots quickly and efficiently in Linux-based environments.Researches and recommends innovative and, where possible, automated approaches for system administration and integration tasks.Automates testing and development enclaves through Ansible, Puppet, and Bash.Manages network devices, including Juniper SRX, Gigamon appliances, and Cisco devices.Engineers using Puppet and Ansible for configuration management and IA compliance.Performs sustainment engineering of on-premise systems and test environments, to include IA compliance and risk mitigation.Leads development and review of project related documentation to include requirements documents, design documents, test documents, and operations and maintenance record keeping.Ensures that all assigned tasks meet DoD guidelines and are completed according to schedule.Maintains skills current with trends in industry and the government and keeps abreast of new developments in their field in order to best support and advise the customers.Periodic travel may be required to support integration, delivery, and field testing of developed systems.
