SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE:The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for financial reporting, maintaining the General Ledger, and supporting other functions within the accounting department. This position will play an active role in the financial close process and preparation of month-end journal entries which includes various expense accruals, prepaids, and allocations.Essential Duties And Responsibilities:Actively participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, which includes preparation of journal entries, balance sheet and income statement reconciliations and analysis.Prepare monthly journal entries for recurring expenses, accruals, prepayments, allocated expenses, and adjusting entries.Prepare the weekly cash summary and cash flow forecast.Maintain the fixed asset module in SAP which includes recording additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis including fixed assets, intercompany accounts, and other assets & liabilities.Run the consolidation process and ensure elimination companies are properly reconciled and eliminated.Assist with the balance sheet and income statement flux analysis for management reporting.Collaborate with FP&A and other cross-functional departments to ensure completeness of operating expenses.Assist with external audit requests and PBC items for the quarterly and year-end audits.Provide support for SOX related activities.Participate in system and reporting enhancements and upgrades and collaborate with IT.Assist with other projects as required.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:Education/Experience:BS/BA degree in related discipline and three years of related experience; or,MS/MA degree in related discipline and one year of related experience; or,Equivalent combination of education and experience.May require certification in assigned area.CPA candidate preferred.Experience/The Ideal for Successful Entry into Job:Experience in Auditing/Accounting.Knowledge/Skills:General knowledge of accounting/finance principles and theory.Strong analytical and business communication skills.Strong attention to details and ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines.Ability to interact cooperatively and work as a team.Demonstrated success in problem solving.SAP software proficiency preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications.DISCLAIMERThe preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
