Lead Accounts Payable Clerk

Oversee the daily activities of the Accounts Payable (A/P) department, ensuring that all invoices are paid in a timely manner. Provide assistance and training to A/P staff, and assist in the continuous development of the AP department processes and procedures, looking for efficiencies and improvements.Assist management with the preparation and processing of weekly payments, and serve as a first point of escalation for A/P-related issues.Serve as the gatekeeper for a wide variety of A/P functions and have direct and unobstructed access to individuals who generate, administer, or authorize company expenses.Act as a resource to other departments/employees processing expenses and invoices.Maintain regular contact with banking and vendor representatives to ensure prompt resolution of any problems, and inform leadership of issues and obstacles that may prevent timely processing and payment of invoices.Work with management to support the general ledger team during month-end and year-end and to respond to audit inquiries.Support management with various A/P projects and activities, such as system testing and year-end processing of 1099s.Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position.Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail).Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job.Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Education:

High School Diploma and/or combination of education and experience with specialized accounts payable training and experience, vocational training, and professional certification to represent the equivalent of a Bachelor’s DegreePreferred Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or BusinessMinimum Experience:

3 years accounts payable experience, 6 – 12 months’ supervisory experiencePreferred Experience:

5 years increasingly complex healthcare experience, 3 or more years’ supervisor experienceRequired License:
