At Legacy, we empower patients to lead better lives by promoting healthy behaviors and offering resources such as literacy classes, family planning services, and nutrition and weight management information.Our roots began in 1981 as the Montrose Clinic, with specialization in HIV education, testing, and treatment. Since then, the agency has expanded to over 50 clinics in Houston, one in Baytown, two in Beaumont, and one in Deer Park with extensive services that include adult primary care, HIV/AIDS care, pediatrics, OB/GYN and maternity, dental, vision, and behavioral health. We also service students within KIPP and YES Prep schools. Legacy is committed to driving healthy change in our communities.Position SummaryThe Associate Chief of Clinical Services will lead, support, and manage all site Clinic Medical Directors (CMD) in the administration of clinical practice for providers across all primary care service lines at his/her/their given site, in close collaboration with operational and nursing leadership at the site and region. The Associate Chief will also be the responsible clinical leader at clinics without a CMD.Essential Duties & FunctionsProvide direct supervision to all Clinic Medical Directors.Support, mentor, and coach clinical medical leaders.Act as clinical leader at the site and direct supervisor of providers at the site in primary care (Pediatrics, Adult Family Practice & Specialty, and OBGYN) at clinics without a CMD.In collaboration with the CMD, Regional Sr Director of Operations, and Operational Site Directors, manage and oversee:Schedule optimizationProvider behavior and professionalismClinical workflow implementation and optimizationSupport communication between CMDs and service line medical director regarding provider behavior concerns.Ensure CMDs educate providers in the clinic on new initiatives and projects and monitor and support providers on implementation.Promote and monitor specific productivity metrics standards for each provider.In collaboration with CMD, monitor empanelment metrics, as assigned, for providers at the site.In collaboration with the medical directors, assist with recruitment and interviews of providers for the site.Review data on wait times for new patients, no show rates, etc. to make decisions on how your discipline should grow/expand and where. Senior clinical leadership will provide support to ensure accurate and timely data is provided.Serve as link between EHRS/IT team at the local level and with our vendors to ensure that discipline related content is up to date and relevant and that providers use of the system is optimized.Partner and strategize with site operations leaders to implement improvement strategies in discipline specific processes such as scheduling, phone triage, and clinic workflows.Partner with Lab director for the site and ensure clinicians are compliant with assigned training.At clinics with a CMD, serve as the MD for Standing Delegated Orders.Maintain a clinical FTE of 1 day per week and 4 days of administration day, subject to change based on organizational needs.As a provider, Associate Chief will still participate in the Provider Incentive Program, with a modification to include metrics of success.Ensure weekly monitoring for all clinicians’ appointment schedules and days worked dashboard to ensure clinicians are on target to meet productivity and quality goals.Collaborate with Regional Operational Sr. Director to ensure clinics are on track to meet budget.Support CMDs with managing clinician PTO requests to ensure all service lines/sites are appropriately staffed.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, & TrainingGraduate from an accredited medical school as M.D. or D.O.Primary Care Specialty (Pediatrics, OB/Gyn, Adult Medicine, Family Practice)Credentialed and privileged according to Legacy’s standards and practicesAbility to meet Legacy Community Health’s EPIC proficiency requirementsRequired Years of ExperienceThree (3) years of post-residency clinical practice as a PhysicianFive (5) years of leadership/management experienceDesirable Education and/or ExperienceExperience in supporting clinical programs across departments and initiating and developing programs.Experience in FQHC environment.Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or AbilitiesExperience leading other physiciansAble to establish relationships with different groups of internal/external stakeholders to obtain input and buy-inStrong problem-solving skills and business acumen.Highly organized and proficient in short-term and long-term strategy.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Evidence of continued growth and learning.Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or AbilitiesPractice ManagementCoachingBenefitsAs part of our values that healthcare is a right and not a privilege, we offer a suite of benefits:Medical / Vision / Dental (Costs of benefits are based on your yearly salary)Legacy is a proud participant in the Texas Loan Repayment Program.Medical visit copays are waived when seeing a Legacy provider.9 Holidays + 1 Floating Holiday403b Retirement PlanBright Horizons Back-up CarePaid Time Off (PTO)PTO Exchange benefit, allowing you to convert a portion of your accrued but unused PTO hours for use toward various benefits and causes based on your priorities.
