Job Title: Principal Network EngineerLocation: Charlotte, NC (Office presence required Tuesday and Thursday) or Fully RemoteWe're working with an MSP company that is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. They are looking for someone to help consult with clients and stakeholders on best practices, architect environments, and be a hands-on leader. They need to have a lot of 10+ years of experience and a strong background in fast-paced and diverse networking roles. Two-day commute to the Charlotte Metro area if local, remote if not.They are looking for a senior level network engineer who is detail-oriented and skilled in many avenues. This role is very hands-on, working greatly with Cisco, Fortinet/Fortigate, and PaloAlto devices. You're going to come in as an individual who will eventually have direct reports. This person is also preferred to have experience with Python, Ansible, or CCNP but it is not required.Key Responsibilities
Network Solution Design and Implementation:
Develop and deploy network infrastructures utilizing technologies such as Cisco, Fortinet, HP, and others, with a focus on Cloud, Security, Routing, and Wireless systems.
Automation Expertise:
Employ tools like Python and Ansible to automate processes in cloud environments.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
Resolve intricate network problems through thorough diagnostics, manage network operations, and maintain precise records of modifications and updates.
Project Management:
Lead and prioritize essential projects, ensuring that solutions align with business objectives and adhere to budgetary limits.
Documentation and Training:
Create detailed network documentation, offer feedback and training to team members, and serve as a key point of escalation for customer service concerns.
Continuous Improvement:
Keep up with industry developments and advancements to recommend and implement network solutions that improve business processes and address future needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
CiscoFortinet/FortiGatePaloAltoAzure cloud technologiesCertifications:
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or similar, with a preference for additional certifications like Security+, CISSP, or GCIH.Python/Ansible (+)Work Environment:
Location:
Based in Charlotte, NC with office presence required on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Fully remote candidates will also be considered.
Travel:
Occasional overnight travel, less than once per month.
