You Are:

A strategic thinking chemical practitioner who combines deep consulting capabilities with extensive experience in the chemicals industry. You know that the industry is on the brink of profound change, and that epic disruption is bringing new opportunities for those ready to seize them—and you want to be a part of it! You have a true methodology background in strategy consulting – from cost take out to operating model design to innovation strategies, so you’re ready to come in and make an impact from day one. You also have a solid business development background that equips you to sell. Your not-so-secret talent? Drawing on your combined chemical industry and consulting prowess and innovation-first thinking to guide clients on how they can reinvent their business.

The Work:

Help Accenture grow profitably at new and current clients by architecting and defining the value for transformational change.

Liaise with client executives at the business and functional levels to establish the client’s problem and structure the engagement.

Utilize chemical industry and functional skills to provide structure to ambiguous business problems. Demonstrate thought leadership, strategic thinking and attention to detail in developing creative solutions to complex problems.

Solve complex, high-value business problems and guide teams through the problem solving process.

Plan, organize, and lead projects and workstreams, conduct and guide analyses, review work products and ensure high quality of client deliverables.

Guide cross-functional teams through project life cycle.

Check in regularly with clients to confirm Accenture is delivering on outcomes and meeting client expectations. Anticipate and offset client concerns, and be ready to have tough conversations with clients—for example, about delivery constraints or not getting needed client inputs.

Contribute to the knowledge base of Accenture and the Chemicals business by developing and improving frameworks and methodologies.

Work with Accenture leadership to set the strategic direction for the practice and play a key role in carrying out the strategy.

Build deep expertise in your client’s industry and advocate for your relevance in it.

Serve as the trusted go-to advisor for senior clients and as a mentor to your team in building client trust and adapting to clients’ style and needs.

Lead and support new business development, follow on sales opportunities and marketing efforts to grow the chemicals business. Oversee larger, more complex projects and multiple workstreams, with broader accountability for project outcomes and client satisfaction.

Here’s What You Need:

A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Science.

Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a management consultant with a significant portion of the experience focused on the chemical sector.

Minimum of 1-2 years of project management experience leading large, transformational change programs ideally working for a Consulting organization.

Deep industry expertise in chemicals e.g., specialty chemicals, petrochemicals, agro chemicals, food ingredients.

Top-notch verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in MS office suite e.g., MS PowerPoint, MS Excel.

Bonus Points If:

You have a Master’s degree in Business or advanced degree in Engineering or Science.

You have 2-3 years’ experience working in a chemicals company.

You have strong relationships with C-level executives in the industry.

You have specific expertise in corporate or business unit strategy, M&A, or a functional area such as commercial (Sales and Marketing, pricing), supply chain, procurement, manufacturing or R&D.
