Develop structural loads and environments for a diverse range of company products to ensure structural integrity for handling, transportation, and operational events.Use first principles as a basis for every decision and discern the appropriate level of analysis to apply. Execute hand calculations, spreadsheet, and numerical first-order models to inform path forward before jumping into detailed analysis.Generate and maintain numerical models and integrated dynamics FEMs for use in loads derivation and other analyses.Collaborate with hardware engineers and guide design decisions based on analysis results.Prepare detailed technical reports and present findings to internal teams, management, and external customers.Ensure compliance with internal and external customer requirements, regulations, and safety standards throughout the design and analysis process.Develop and perform dynamics testing, including vibration testing, modal testing, GVT, etc.Define instrumentation and perform data processing for loads data acquisition.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
BS or higher degree in engineering or applied physics with a focus in structures.Deep understanding of statics and structural dynamics.Dynamic testing experience (system identification, sine, random, shock, acoustic, flight) including sensor selection, data acquisition, and data post-processing.Proficiency in FEA software (ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN) and solution sequences for static, modal, frequency response, transient response, and random response.Proficiency in Matlab or Python (or equivalent) for developing analytical models, data acquisition, and automation.Highly motivated, self-starting, and able to perform duties autonomously without supervision.Very organized and willing to establish scope and requirements for ill-defined problems.Passion for defending the United States and her allies.Be able to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of experience in a structures, dynamics, or loads related role with high ownership and accountability for hardware outcomes.Rotorcraft and Turbomachinery experience.Ability to develop workflow automation tools.Experience with response or force limiting vibration testing.US Salary Range
$120,000 - $180,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.Benefits
