Job Category : Engineering Design & DevelopmentCompany: United Brine Services Company, LLCResponsibilitiesEvaluation of the suitability of salt domes and bedded salt formations for brine mining and the potential for cavern storage (including hydrogen).Actively support Manager of Drilling & Workovers during well drilling by providing geologic interpretation of the drilling logs and recommendations accordingly.Review and interpret open-hole well logs including but not limited to porosity, density, resistivity, spectral gamma-ray, XMAC, UXPL, etc. for salt and non-salt formations.Support location selection, well and cavern design, and drilling operations.Support the acquisition, interpretation, and application of geophysical logs and surveys (i.e. 2D and 3D seismic surveys, gravity surveys, XMAC imaging, etc.).Review and interpret the development of caverns and the spatial relationship between caverns, lease property lines, and location in a salt dome.Support permitting of new wells and routine regulatory compliance and reporting.Support as needed in estimating available salt reserves remaining in developing caverns.Education RequirementsBachelor of Science Degree and Master of Science Degree in Geology preferred.A minimum of ten years of relevant experience required.Experience with brine production caverns and underground storage of liquids and gas preferred.Special Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesSolid understanding of subsurface geologic mapping and interpretation techniques, salt tectonics, open-hole log interpretation, structural geology, and geological problem solving.Ability to work well within a cross-functional team with individuals of varying backgrounds, experience, and education, including hourly operators and mechanics.Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Excel spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint, electronic libraries, and applicable software.Willingness to spend time in the field and away from the corporate office as required by workload demands.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills including the ability to make presentations to senior management and clients.Ability to multi-task and take on other roles within the organization as needed.Working ConditionsIn-office environment.
