Under the direction of Dr. Chi, who leads the Cancer and Blood Disease Institute Biostatistics team, the group is responsible for the biostatistical requests that come in from multiple research programs/disease teams throughout CBDI. The Biostatistician I, under the supervision of a faculty, Ph.D. level Biostatistician, and in collaboration with faculty investigators and CHLA research staff, performs statistical analysis and other tasks relevant to a biostatistician's role in support of qualitative and quantitative scientific research and evaluation projects. The Biostatistician I is an entry-level position who will work under the close supervision of a Ph.D. level statistician.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

No prior work experience required. Prior experience as a statistician in an academic work environment is preferred. Working familiarity with statistical analysis packages such as Stata and SAS is required. An understanding of basic concepts of design and utilization of relational databases is necessary. Experience with Stata and SAS, as well as database systems such as REDCap and Medidata, is highly preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

M.S. in statistics or biostatistics, or equivalent degree or experience, with emphasis on statistical methods and the theory that underlies their development and use. Training in the statistical concepts related to experimental and clinical study design is required.

Pay Scale Information

USD $58,240.00 - USD $100,464.00

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed in this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
