Escondido, CA, United StatesPosition Summary:
We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer for our Escondido, CA location. The ideal candidate will be assisting with design calculations, permitting, and design drawings. The position will require some project management, which includes interfacing with the customer, providing schedule updates, submitting pay applications, and submitting all required project documentation. Typical projects involve mechanical pump and dispenser system design.Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Generate Technical and Commercial proposals to customers for the Company’s products and engineering solutions.Review customer’s request for proposals and project specifications to determine technical requirements, including but not limited to process design, equipment selection, sizing, costing, and schedule.Interact with customers to provide Project timeline and timely project submittals, providing accurate information regarding products, delivery schedule, services, and pricing.Provide commercial and technical support to Customers and Sales team in a timely manner.Correctly apply applicable industry standards.Maintain quotation log and develop follow-up procedure to determine job status.Perform work, promote teamwork, and communicate in conjunction with Company Values and our internal standards (Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost).Customer Follow up - upon award of contract, to summarize contract, supply list of comments and exceptions and latest proposal, and to work with Contract Administrator to open sales order.Product development support consists of conceptual design development based on market feedback, as well as data collection, follow up, design modifications, and engineering solutions.Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree preferred (BS in Mechanical Engineering a plus)5+ years in applications or sales engineering, preferably in a machinery manufacturing environment.Experience in cryogenics including LNG, Hydrogen, and industrial gases a plus.5+ years of full-cycle, "hands-on" experience in a construction, manufacturing or engineering related field.Cryogenic system design, fabrication, and start-up experience.High pressure system design, fabrication, and start-up experience.Centrifugal and positive displacement pump system selection and integration.Familiarity with P&IDs.Familiarity with pump selection and operation requirements.Project Management experience.Proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks or similar software.Required Travel: Up to 10%.Other Duties
