Job Description
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Develop PL/SQL code and Oracle stored procedures for a large government database.Develop ETL processes using external tables, SQL*Loader control files, and Linux shell scripts.Parse XML data and insert data in corresponding tables.Work with the data architect to implement modern designs or modifications.Investigate and mitigate database performance issues for DML.Understand the underlying components of the logical and physical layers of Oracle, including data files, tablespaces, partitioning, and compression.Create simple Oracle APEX applications.Experience, Functional And Technical Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.A current or recent CAC is necessary.The ability to pass a Public Trust background check is necessary.Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or 5 years of relevant experience.Must be well versed in Oracle PL/SQL and stored procedures.Skills/Abilities:
Must be initiative-taking and able to work independently to solve problems.Experience with SQL Developer or other development tools.Experience with Oracle collections.Experience mitigating database performance issues using Explain Plan.Experience evaluating business requirements for databases.Experience with various ETL tools and methods of transferring data.A basic understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.Oracle APEX development experience is a plus.
