Senior Financial Analyst, Insurance Markets

Market Security and Analysis is comprised of a team of financial and credit analysts responsible for analyzing the financial strength of insurers and reinsurers (markets). Perform a variety of analyses to evaluate the balance sheet strength and operating performance of U.S. property and casualty insurers and reinsurers.Present analysis of insurers and reinsurers to Market Security committees, comprised of other credit analysts and Aon business unit representatives.Use data mining to help determine insurers requiring a more stringent review.Work closely with Aon Brokers on the business need for new markets or the expansion in the use of markets.Take a lead role in servicing clients, responding to inquiries on current and prospective P&C insurers.Contribute to reports highlighting emerging trends in the insurance industry.Assist in the maintenance of data on Aon systems and web portals.Skills and experience that will lead to success

Bachelor of Science Degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or equivalent. MBA and/or CFA and/or CPA and/or related industry designations such as CPCU, a plus.Approximately 4+ years experience in financial analysis and/or related work at an insurance company, reinsurance company, reinsurance intermediary or consulting firm.Understanding of P&C insurance accounting, GAAP and/or SAP.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; strong proficiency with PowerPoint and Word.Experience working with P&C insurance industry databases (A.M. Best and Standard & Poor's) a plus.Ability to complete multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills; solid verbal and written communications.Preference for an analyst located in or near Chicago, Minneapolis or Philadelphia.Limited travel may be required.How we support our colleagues

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $90,000 - $100,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
