General Summary of Position
MedStar Washington Hospital Center is looking for an experienced Clinical Pharmacist II to join our passionate, patient-focused Critical Care team. Current PGY1's are encouraged to apply.This is a full-time position with a rotating schedule, including rotating weekends. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated critical care pharmacist looking for challenges and opportunities to learn, grow, and encounter unique ICU cases in the following specialties: Heart and vascular, Trauma, Burn, Neuro, General surgery, Surgical Oncology, MICU (Medical ICU). In addition, we are heavily engaged in the Surgical ICU and in perioperative & procedural area care (Intraop/post-op (PACU)) & Anesthesia services.The Clinical Pharmacist II provides pharmaceutical care to assigned patients under the supervision of a more senior clinical pharmacist/manager. Responsibilities include evaluating and interpreting physician orders and dispensing medication and other pharmaceutical supplies in accordance with established operational procedures, professional standards of practice, as well as state and federal laws.Qualifications
Doctoral degree or equivalent Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy requiredPGY-1 or 3 years of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting requiredVerbal and written communication skills; basic computer skills preferredPHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in DC RequiredBoard certification within one year of eligibility requiredThis position has a hiring range of $118,331 - $218,171.
