Job Summary:

Suffolk Construction is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Director IT, Construction Technology Products to lead the development, optimization, and operation of our construction and field technology platform and product ecosystems. This role will work closely with functional leaders across Design, Business Development, Pursuits, Preconstruction, National Operations and within Information and Technology to ensure that platform strategy and delivery align with the company’s strategic goals, creating maximum value for Suffolk.

Job Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create, maintain and deliver a detailed construction and field technology ecosystem roadmap ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.

Continuously monitor, evaluate, and partner to optimize the lifecycle of technology which enables the end-to-end construction lifecycle.

Gather and prioritize technical and functional requirements for technology products.

Ensure the creation and maintenance of comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture.

Shepherd the change management process through the EA and change governance processes.

Partner with the Enterprise Engineering team to ensure seamless integration of tools and platforms into existing IT ecosystems.

Manage technical and strategic relationships with vendors, overseeing the implementation of updates, customizations, and integrations.

Lead with a digital user experience focus to ensure technology products meet user needs and provide superior user experience.

Partner using an agile SDLC to ensure high-quality feature delivery that aligns with business priorities.

Establish and enforce data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.

Implement and manage tools to track performance and availability, proactively addressing issues before they impact people.

Ensure that technology products meet the highest security standards, including data protection, access control, and compliance with regulations.

Lead testing efforts, including automated testing, to ensure technology products are reliable, scalable, and free of critical errors.

Oversee incident management processes, ensuring rapid response and resolution of escalated technical issues.

Regularly update stakeholders on the status of products and delivery, including development progress, roadmaps, and issue resolution.

Drive innovation by researching and implementing emerging technologies that enhance functionality and efficiency.

Identify and manage technical debt, balancing the need for new features while maintaining a stable, maintainable codebase.

Ensure that all technical initiatives deliver measurable business outcomes aligned with the company’s strategic goals.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred).

Proven record of accomplishment successfully managing complex IT projects in the construction industry.

12+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Extensive experience with Procore, Autodesk, and other construction-related platforms.

Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, data governance, and IT security.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.
