The Research Nurse will provide independent support services to the National Cancer Institute's Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics. The primary objective is to deliver patient-focused nursing care while assisting with clinical research protocols.Key Responsibilities
Recruit and screen patients for inclusion in clinical trials and protocols.Provide nursing care and collaborate with the interprofessional team to balance clinical and research needs.Perform assessments, physicals, and collect medical histories.Coordinate patient visits to the NIH Clinical Center, ensuring adherence to protocol procedures.Administer protocol consents, monitor compliance, and manage clinical data.Collect epidemiologic, genetic, and clinical data; input and manage data accurately.Assist in organizing research data and analyzing trends.Qualifications
Education: Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution preferred.Licensure: Current RN licensure required.Experience: 2-4 years of nursing experience, preferably in oncology.
