Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Systems Engineer 2 to join our team as an algorithm developer in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Global Mission Command and Control Department. This position may place candidates on various teams within programs such as IBCS, NAREW, IFC, FAAD C2, and/or IRADs. The position responsibilities include development, prototyping, analysis, and implementation of target tracking, target discrimination, and battle management algorithms; implementing algorithms in a prototype environment; performing comparative data analysis to assess algorithm performance; and review of the content and details of technical products. The qualified applicant designs, develops, integrates, documents, tests and debugs prototype software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to the identified problem space.
Basic Qualifications:
Level 2- 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics.
Principal- 5 Years with Bachelor's degree; 3 years with Masters
Ability to design and prototype algorithms
Ability to perform data post-processing and performance analysis
Strong MATLAB, Java, Python, or Mathematica skills
Active secret security clearance
Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in battle management and fire control research and algorithm development in support of DoD programs.
Able to apply complex mathematical models.
Salary Range:
$83,000 - $124,000The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
