This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Medical Center. The employee shall support Saddleback Medical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.The RN, Clinical II in the Emergency Services department is responsible for providing patient care in a safe and effective manner. Additional responsibilities include directing the Patient Care Technician activity, synthesizing patient information, assessing patients, planning of care/intervention, teaching of patients/family, implementing treatment plan/MD orders, and documenting and evaluating per unit standards. Collaboration between healthcare team members and integration of patient care standards are incorporated into all clinical activities.Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

Assesses health care needs, follows a systematic data collection process, and involves the patient, family, significant others, and health care providers when appropriate.Develops and contributes to a written plan of care to meet patient's subtle as well as obvious nursing needs.Implements the plan of care to attain expected outcomes.Evaluates the patient's outcomes systematically and ongoing.Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.Identifies, develops, and implements an action plan for self-development.Identifies patient problems and reports to an appropriate resource person.Competently utilizes Reddinet emergency medical communication system.Ability to be at work and on time.Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and directives.Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.Ability to prioritize and multitask.*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role. Qualifications/Work Experience:

Two-years of acute care experience in Emergency nursing preferred for per diem role.Electronic Medical Record experience preferred.Education/Licensure/Certification:

Current California Registered Nursing (RN) License required.Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Card required.Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Card required.Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Card required.NIHSS Certification required.Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
