Hiring Department : Department of MedicineLocation : Chicago, IL USARequisition ID : 1027155Posting Close Date : September 18, 2024Description:Position SummaryThe Visiting Research Specialist will provide behavioral and healthy lifestyle counseling in individual and group-based behavior change interventions for adults with chronic conditions and contribute to the design, delivery, and conduct of research projects. The ideal candidate for this position needs to be dependable, knowledgeable, personable, well-organized, and self-motivated.

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide health education, and behavioral and healthy lifestyle counseling to adults with chronic conditions following evidence-based curricula.Lead individual and group intervention sessions in person and via videoconferencing or telephone in research studies.Monitor and evaluate intervention progress and data collection according to good clinical practice (GCP).Participate in research study activities such as participant recruitment and retention, intervention protocol development and delivery, and IRB submissions.Collaborate with Principal Investigator and team leadership to develop intervention objectives, implement protocols, and evaluate outcomes.Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of 3 years of related experience in research.Strong counseling experiences and skills in providing behavioral interventions for adults with various chronic conditions.Bachelor’s degree required, and master’s degree strongly preferred, in psychology, nutrition and related fields.Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills required.Ability to work well independently and within a team environment.Flexibility with work schedules (including evenings and weekends) to accommodate research participants’ needs and preferences.
