We’re looking for a Software Engineer for the Same Day Delivery Experience team to help ensure we have a compelling and friction-free ‘delivery in hours’ experience available to our customers, and help drive continuous innovation and improvement of the delivery experience across all phases of shopping, buying, and post purchase experience.A successful engineer in this role is:You solve problems in ways that can be backed up with verifiable data. You focus on driving processes, tools, and methods which support rational decision-making.You aren't satisfied by performing 'as expected' and push the limits past conventional boundaries.You help grow your team members to achieve excellent results. Developing and maintaining key features of our systems and servicesWorking with team members on design approaches and prototyping new technologyWorking on product improvements, with focus on customer experience and scalabilityDiving deep into complex technical problemsRaising the bar for operational excellence and development practicesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experienceExperience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering teamPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
