About The RoleThe Senior Database Developer is responsible for independently developing high quality databases that support sponsors’ research programs with a high level of proficiency. In addition, the Senior Database Developer has an active role in the continuous improvement of the department and act as a leader in the department.

What You’ll Do Here

Build the clinical database in the database platform specified per the contracted scope of work, timelines and final approved protocol.

Ensure all visits, forms, and fields are appropriately created to capture protocol-required data and validation checks and listings are complete.

Set up the data cleaning tools in the clinical database, missing data checks, range checks, skip logic, programmed edits, and manual review listings.

Collaborate with client, Lead Data Managers (LDMs), Clinic Data Entry teammates, Biostatisticians, Statistical Programmers, Medical Writers, and the project team to ensure efficient and analyzable data collection.

Work closely with Medrio- or ClinSpark- or other database platform-support groups to escalate and resolve technical issues.

Ensure database is compliant with Clinical Data Acquisition Standards Harmonization (CDASH), International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH)/Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and appropriate sponsor standards.

Utilize department-approved standard forms and participate in the continuous improvement of the department case report form (CRF) library.

Identify and suggest design for standard data types as well as data that will require non-standard programming for database design and ensure an effective collection process is established.

Participate or lead the database testing process ensuring all forms, edit checks, and listings function appropriately.

Update database to accommodate protocol updates or client or project team requests.

Complete all documentation per department processes and ensure it is filed appropriately.

Track all Data Management Change Request forms and associated documentation to accurately report all post-production database changes.

Provide input into improving and monitoring Data Management standards and participate in continuous process/productivity improvement.

May participate in intradepartmental or interdepartmental quality improvement initiatives.

Maintain and participate in the objectives of the department.

Keep and report metrics as requested by management.

Mentor and train other team members and/or develop training materials as needed.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Bachelor's Degree in programming, health-related sciences, or relevant field.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Understanding of clinical research and the relationship of Data Management in the clinical study process.

Strong technical aptitude and ability to adapt to multiple data management platforms and established proficiency in independent database development.

Good computer skills (JavaScript, Power BI, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point) and ability to understand and adapt to multiple information technology (IT) systems.

What We OfferThe pay range estimated for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 hourly. Please note that hourly rates/salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data.
