Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Subject Matter Expert (Military Activities)
U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) located at McDill AFB, Tampa, Florida has a unique joint staff planning need focused on integrating and synchronizing DoD military activities with United States Government (USG) strategy. These services include developing inputs to strategies, campaign plans, and concepts of operation that ultimately translate strategic and operational objectives into a series of related activities and operations to achieve desired end states in coordination with other DoD components, USG agencies, allies, coalition members and regional partners.
The WMD Planner provides strategy, plans, exercises, and policy services specific to Weapons of Mass Destruction in support of unique Joint Planning Team (JPT)/Operational Planning Team (OPT).

U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) Headquarters, MacDill AFB, Tampa Florida

Top Secret/SCI eligible
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports all aspects of the Joint Operational Planning Process including: Mission Analysis, Course of Action (COA) Development, COA Analysis (Wargaming), COA Comparison and Decision.
Supporting Plans and Order Development: Analyze COA decision, mission statement, commander's intent, and guidance to develop plans and/or orders that direct subordinate actions.
Acts as subject matter expert in support of USCENTCOM for USSOCOM-led planning efforts, to include Counter-WMD (CWMD) and WMD-Terrorism (WMD-T) plans, deterrence planning, and Global Counter Terrorism (CT) with WMD-T planning efforts.
Supports the development, coordination, and analysis of CWMD and CWMD-T plans assessments with the Joint Staff, Office of the Secretary of Defense, other Combatant Commands, and relevant interagency and other government agencies.
Participates in the CWMD and CWMD-T community of interest, making recommendations to improve CWMD and CWMD-T plans, policies, and strategies.
Supports the development of overall joint system concepts, designs, and technical approaches to meet broadly stated requirements and objectives. Conducts top-level systems analysis, perform trade studies, perform technical optimizations, and develop high-level designs. WMD Planner must staff, prepare complex operations or technical documentation, conduct reviews, and deliver presentations all pertaining to WMD.
Provides coordination of FOIA requests and Mandatory Declassification Reviews (MDRs) according to legal standards set by the various laws governing the processing, declassification, and release of information from designated USCENTCOM files.
Advises CCJ5 on the FOIA and MDR Program in accordance with USCENTCOM directives to ensure plans and orders are properly safeguarded.
Knowledge and Qualifications:
Graduate of the Joint Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Planning Course (JCPC), CWMD Senior Staff Planners course, or equivalent program.
Minimum of 5 years of WMD related planning experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience at the Geographic or Functional Combatant Command Headquarters.
High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Prior USCENTCOM experience is preferred, but not required.
Experience in Special Operations activities and Global Counter Terrorism is preferred.
TS/SCI eligible clearance.
