About the role:Creates a culture where data is managed as a valuable corporate asset. Compiles and analyzes financial information (loans, commercial banking) for SAMU. Analyzes monthly and quarterly allowance and Provision for Credit loss reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately. Identifies trends and developments for LOBs and presents findings to senior management. Supports financial forecasting and performs loan data reconciliation of internal accounts. Provides input to, and follows, data governance standards and processes to improve the quality of BMO data and reduce overall data risk for the designated business/group. Develops and implements data strategies, tactics, products and a curated data model to achieve business objectives. Reviews, designs and implements data governance practices and data management processes within the business/group in alignment with Enterprise Data Governance Operating Directive.

Responsibilities:Actively leads routine monthly financial management reporting responsibilities as well as ad-hoc requests for reports.Supports forecasting process by gathering and compiling various data sets, analyzing trends, analyzing variances and current performance metrics, and partnering with department leadership to obtain key assumptions.Pro-actively identifies business trends and risks to forecast using historical information to inform decisions about the future.Demonstrate flexibility and agility to support analysis for current business with ability to scale to accommodate expected business growth.Partners with the organization to provide monthly rolling forecasts and high-level leadership presentations.Builds, documents, and deploys scalable processes and systems that ensure repeatable, high-quality execution.Listens closely and asks questions to ensure complete understanding of any issue or question-at-hand to provide the most concise and accurate reporting/analysis.General technical knowledge of accounting and financial analysis processes. Able to work with managers throughout the company in analyzing financial data.Monitors and reports on data management requirements and compliance issues, impacts and resolution status to leadership and data governance team.Acts as a trusted advisor on data governance and data management matters.Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives.Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.Supports the assessment, root cause analysis, and formulating proposed solutions/remediation strategies.Escalates data and compliance issues.Implements, maintains and reviews processes to ensure quality and integrity of data and ensures compliance with Bank and regulatory requirements.Develops stakeholder communications and training in support of data management process implementation.Supports the resolution of data issues by coordinating stakeholders in the information chain.Performs quality assurance activities to ensure handling, storage, and collection of data complies with Bank Policy and regulatory requirements.Analyzes structured and unstructured data to support the design and development of a business/group curated data model.Identifies and implements the optimum means to collect, process, analyze and report on information and ensure ongoing accuracy, integrity and security.Participates in the timely resolution of operating/technical problems or manages escalation with other BMO technical support groups.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred) or Data/Computer Science.Typically, between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience as a Data Analyst within Finance domain (financial data related to loans, credit, etc).Skilled in working with SAP S/4 HANA, SQL, APMS, LoanIQ, MS Excel.Experience performing financial reconciliations, forecasting and reporting specifically related to Loans.Financial Reconciliation, financial Management & Reporting.Data analysis of large data sets from multiple data sources.Data management and governance.

Additional Skills required:Consistently deliver prescribed outcomes in a timely and accurate manner with appropriate guidance.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and continuous process improvement mindset.Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and across departments.Assertive, action-oriented hands-on, "roll up your sleeves"-type approach.Energetic, strong work ethic, resilient, collaborative, ability to juggle multiple projects at once and personally committed to achieving success.Strong time management skills.Being capable of demonstrating leadership skills.High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel a must.Prepare executive reports for Senior Management.

Salary:

$79,800.00 - $148,000.00Pay Type:

SalariedThe above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
