We are the community's major referral hospital, and we provide a wide range of services, including:Cancer careCritical care medicineDigestive disorder careHeart and vascular disease careLaboratory servicesNeurological disordersObstetrics and gynecology careAnd care for many other injuries, illnesses, and conditionsRanked among highest performing hospitals nationally by U.S. News & World ReportAmong only 1% of hospitals to be recognized by Magnet 4 consecutive timesNamed a top 50 cardiovascular hospital by Watson HealthSCHEDULE:Full time 40 hoursNight shiftLOCATION:Baystate Medical CenterSpringfield, MAQUALIFICATIONS:MA RT license and ARRT RegistryJob Responsibilities:Under the supervision of the Radiologist and according to established procedures, operates diagnostic X-ray equipment as required to obtain diagnostic films according to Radiologist specifications.Performs diagnostic procedures in accordance with hospital guidelines, including fluoroscopy and invasive exams.Responds to emergency situations according to departmental policy.Demonstrates excellent customer service through positive patient experience.Maintains operational communication with Supv/Mgr; shares information and follows through with assigned tasks.Works as a member of the health care team including physicians, nurses and other health care professionals.Operates and maintains exam room and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper supply levels.Recognizes examination findings that may require immediate clinical response.Assures ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.Maintains standards of skills and presents self in a professional manner.Attends designated training events to enhance clinical skills.Accurately inputs data into appropriate applications.Assists in the training of technologists, residents and students when assigned.Observes strict safety standards ensuring the safety of patients and staff.Utilizes time effectively by coordinating patients and procedures.Assists the radiologist in a wide range of sterile procedures.Maintains radiation safety procedures and protocols.Required Work Experience:New grad provisional license.Preferred Work Experience:Hospital experience.Skills and Competencies:Ability to work with computer applications.Demonstrates good verbal and written communication.Able to work independently and be self-motivated.Must complete orientation and have ARRT and Final state License to progress to level II.Education:Associate of Arts, Certificate: Radiologic Technology (Required)Certifications:Basic Life Support – American Heart Association, Radiography – American Registry of Radiologic TechnologistEqual Employment Opportunity Employer:Baystate Health is an Equal Opportunity employer.
