The Opportunity:Under close supervision, provide direct benchtop services support at customer facilities. Execute routine laboratory support procedures and preparations (e.g. media/buffer prep, solvent/reagent mixtures, filtrations, material weighing, some physical testing, witness senior staff experiments). Maintain lab inventory and labeling (e.g. chemical reagents, glassware, gas cylinder levels). Verification/maintenance of laboratory equipment (e.g. balances, pH meters, sonicator cleaning, glass washing).In this role, you will report to the Area Manager and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.Location:

High school diploma or GED requiredExperience:2+ years' experience in a Laboratory environment highly preferredSpill containment training, IATA, DOT, IMDG and OSHA Right to Know a plusMust follow all safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as lab coats, safety goggles or glasses, and gloves.Cross referencing and inside sales experience a plusKnowledge of scientific products and services a plusCollaboration Tool:

Microsoft Teams experience preferredHow you will thrive and create an impact:Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.In this role you will:Perform routine laboratory procedures and preparations, such as media and buffer preparation, solvent and reagent mixtures, filtrations, material weighing, and some physical testing.Assist senior staff by witnessing experiments.Maintain laboratory inventory and labeling, including chemical reagents, glassware, and gas cylinder levels.Verify and maintain laboratory equipment, such as balances, pH meters, and sonicators, and handle glass washing.Schedule and manage freezer inventory, including removing materials and transferring them to a temporary freezer.Handle defrosting tasks, including removing ice, wiping down, and cleaning.Inventory all samples, catalog them via photos, and work with EH&S to discard unwanted samples.Keep records of samples and freezer space usage.Return all samples to freshly cleaned and sanitized freezers once they have reached the proper temperature.Perform additional duties as assigned.Disclaimer:
