We are currently seeking a highly motivated senior researcher with a strong understanding of adaptive and/or innate immunity and a strong background in computational biology. This role is based in Waltham, MA within AstraZeneca’s state-of-the-art laboratories. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives every day.Accountabilities:As a biology leader in the Bioscience, Immunology team, you will focus on developing therapeutics for the treatment of Rheumatological and Gastrointestinal Diseases. You will be responsible for characterizing novel immunological pathways in health and disease to aid target validation and drug projects. You will also contribute and drive strategies for new target identification for the treatment of immune-mediated diseases.Essential Skills/Experience:A Ph.D. in Immunology, or a closely related field with a minimum of 3-5 years of post-doctoral experience with deep computational biology background.Expert knowledge of bioinformatics and statistical concepts.Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.Strong hands-on skills in basic biochemical and molecular techniques.Expertise with analyzing NGS datasets (single-cell and bulk RNAseq) and extracting relevant biological insights.Experience analyzing immunological datasets associated with oncology and/or auto-immune diseases.Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to critically analyze data sets.Desirable Skills/Experience:Experience working in the pharma/biotech is preferred but not essential.Expertise in drug discovery projects in the immunology, fibrotic diseases or a closely related field of biology is preferred.Are you ready to join a team that's pushing the boundaries of science to change the practice of medicine?
