CompanyMunich Re AmericaLocationAtlanta, United StatesThe Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including Phoenix, AZ; Chicago, IL; Atlanta, GA and San Francisco, CA.We are adding to our diverse team of experts and are looking to hire those who are committed to building a culture that enables the creation of innovative solutions for our business units and clients.The OpportunityAs a member of our E&S team, you’ll be responsible for the production, underwriting and retention of profitable E&S business through the cultivation and maintenance of broker relationships.Key Responsibilities of this position include:Independently underwrite and price moderate to highly complex business in accordance with corporate, divisional and department guidelines and philosophy.Underwrite new and renewal business in accordance with underwriting authority, including all tasks associated with information and data gathering, data manipulation, risk and coverage analysis, pricing, and deal negotiations.Review primary policy, contract and endorsement wording and ensure accuracy and conformance with guidelines.Demonstrate and maintain enhanced technical product and underwriting expertise.Knowledge and expertise in underwriting moderate to high complex accounts.Develop and maintain strong market presence by developing client and broker strategies.Proven ability to interact effectively with clients, brokers, and colleagues.Proactively identify and analyze the needs of existing and potential clients.Independently negotiate (re)insurance contracts with clients and brokers based on delegated authority.Lead departmental projects related to the development and implementation of underwriting strategy.Demonstrate advanced proficiency in the use of pricing models and other risk evaluation models.Decision making based on data interpretation beyond models.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Able to adjust communication style to audience internally or externally.Job Requirements:Demonstrate advanced proficiency in the use of pricing models and other risk evaluation models.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Able to adjust communication style to audience internally or externally.Conduct peer reviews of team members’ accounts.5+ years of experience in insurance, broker community and/or corporate risk market.3+ years of casualty underwriting experience preferred.Bachelor’s Degree preferred; advanced degree a plus.CPCU, ARe designations desirable.Ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 25%.The salary range posted below applies to the Company’s San Francisco location. The base salary range anticipated for this position is

$110,500 - $162,000

plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.
