Senior Machine Learning Engineer

is responsible for building, testing, and deploying ML based software applications to solve internal and customer facing automation problems. As part of the AI & Analytics Innovation Team, this role will work together with engineers and data scientists to rapidly prototype, evaluate, and deploy solutions to solve QTS’s most demanding automation challenges. The Senior ML Engineer must be able to work as part of a team to develop solutions to problems with a high level of ambiguity while delivering against a rapid development cycle.The Senior ML Engineer will interact (on a daily basis) with Technical Operations, Facilities Operations, Accounting, Service Delivery Platform (SDP), Property Development, external development resources and other areas of the business.RESPONSIBILITIES

Other Duties May Be Assigned.Collaborate with the AI & Analytics team on overall system development / testing / deploymentDevelop and optimize API based integrations to support system interoperabilityRapidly build python-based prototype systems to vet use case feasibilityBuild / test / deploy / maintain / update API based systems and infrastructure to connect data silosCreate unit tests for prototype systems to evaluate prototype feasibility / efficacyRapidly prototype and evaluate use case ideas to vet feasibility and valueProvide input to the team regarding GUI design for each use caseBuild / maintain data aggregation services and systemsAssist with maintaining current ML ModelsAssist with data interpretation and correlation including developing visualizations and reportingAssist with investigating and developing new ML models related to critical operationsAssist with developing value statements for potential AI/ML/Automation initiativesAssist with development and population of new database structuresCreate high-uptime, high-volume data integration systems (MM datapoints / second) to support AI / Analytics systemsWork collaboratively as part of a distributed, fast paced teamAbility to identify, describe and come up with solutions to identified system deficienciesBasic Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in designing / prototyping / deploying production quality software systems.Minimum 3 years of experience developing distributed web APIs to include proficiency with gRPC and RESTful APIs.Demonstrated record of work ethic, team collaboration, accountability, and holding yourself and your team to higher standardsAdvanced experience with Python application developmentExperience with traditional Machine Learning model development best practices and toolsData analysis and Extract Transform Load (ETL) best practicesStrong verbal / written communication skillsPreferred Qualifications

Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration for microservices based architecturesExperience building automation systems using IOT dataFamiliarity with critical facilities and environmentsExperience with IOT based streaming protocols such as MQTTExperience with graph, relational, NoSQL, and time series databasesExperience with cloud-based application development (AWS / Azure) and hybrid (on-prem / cloud) application architectureKnowledge, Skills And Abilities
