Summary:

This position has a dual reporting relationship as it plays a vital role in ensuring both the financial well-being of the Hospital and the alignment of financial strategies, budgetary and capital management with Northern Light Health financial policies and structure. Under the supervision of the Northern Light Health VP-Finance, the AVP-Finance for the Hospital is responsible for administration and coordination of the Hospital policies and practices on finance, accounting, insurance, capital expenditures, internal controls, financial reporting, pricing, payor contracting, and statistical gathering. This position is responsible for hospital-specific financial procedures required to adequately safeguard the hospital assets. Under the supervision of the VP-Finance and Hospital President, the AVP-Finance is responsible for day-to-day oversight of hospital finance functions, including supervision of patient access, medical records, and financial analysis. This position partners with the VP of Finance around communication to hospital governance and works closely with the Hospital vice presidents and managers on the financial discipline necessary for maximizing productivity, cost containment, market growth, and revenue enhancements. Under the shared supervision of the VP-Finance and Hospital President, the AVP-Finance is responsible for the Hospital operating and capital budgeting, business plan development, and management of the revenue cycle.

Responsibilities:

Maintain standard operating procedures and performance measures to ensure a sound internal control environment over financial reporting.

Serve as technical advisor to the VP-Finance on all matters pertaining to outside auditors, investment bankers, and other external reporting and regulatory bodies.

Provide timely updates to senior finance management on issues and status of major projects.

In collaboration with System accounting operations, develop, implement and monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Represent Northern Light Health to organizations within the community.

Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial statements, documents, and reports.

Prepare and recommend the annual budget showing expected revenues and expenditures.

Prepare financial statements and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position.

Assure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate policies, regulations, and laws.

Submit periodic and other special reports indicating the financial status of the Organization.

Maintain confidentiality of all materials handled within the Organization.

Comply with Organization and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient, and environmental safety.

Required Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:

3 years of Leadership Experience

10 years of Relevant Work Experience
