We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join our Data Platform team to lead our Data Infrastructure, Governance, Privacy, and Security Engineering initiatives.Job Summary:As an Engineering Manager for the Core Infrastructure squad, you will be responsible for leading a team that integrates various data sources such as PostGres, S3, and DynamoDB into Data Governance tools. Your team will manage the SDP data infrastructure, Terraform Cloud, Snowflake RBAC, and cost management for Snowflake and AWS. In addition to this, your team will also be tasked with developing Data Governance capabilities, specifically focusing on "Data Retention" and "Permission to Share". You will provide technical leadership, ensure the implementation of best practices, and drive strategic initiatives to enhance our data platform.Key Responsibilities:Data Governance:Lead the integration of various data sources, including PostGres, S3, and DynamoDB, into Metadata Management tools such as Alation, Collibra.Plan and lead the development of Data Governance capabilities focused on "Data Retention" and "Permission to Share".Collaborate with stakeholders to define and enforce data governance policies and standards.Infrastructure Management:Oversee the management of SDP data infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.Manage Terraform Cloud for infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate provisioning and deployment processes.Snowflake and AWS Management:Handle Snowflake Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to ensure secure and compliant data access.Monitor and manage costs associated with Snowflake and AWS services, implementing cost-saving strategies.Technical Leadership and Mentorship:Provide technical guidance and mentorship to your engineering team, promoting best practices in data management and infrastructure.Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.Strategic Planning and Execution:Develop and execute strategic plans for infrastructure enhancements and data governance projects.Ensure alignment with organizational goals and drive initiatives to support business objectives.Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.Experience:Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in data engineering, data infrastructure, or a similar field.Extensive experience with Cloud Data Warehouses such as Snowflake, Big Query, RedShift, including architecture, performance tuning, and security.At least 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role, overseeing engineering teams.Technical Skills:Deep expertise in Snowflake, including data warehousing, data modeling, query optimization, and integration with cloud platforms.Extensive knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS) like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server.Proficiency with various NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Couchbase, and DynamoDB.Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra) and security tools (e.g., OneTrust, BigID, Sentra, Varonis).Strong understanding of cloud database services and architectures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), including cloud-native databases like Amazon RDS, Azure Cosmos DB, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, Red Shift, and serverless architectures.Proficiency in automation tools and techniques, including CI/CD pipelines and automated assessment tools.Knowledge of distributed database systems and principles of distributed computing.Familiarity with application development and integration with databases using languages like Java, C#, Python, and frameworks like Spring, Django, or .NET.Experience with Terraform Cloud for infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate provisioning and deployment processes.Soft Skills:Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of continuous learning.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven ability to work cross-functionally.Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on driving results and achieving business objectives.Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Compensation and Benefits:The base pay range for this role is listed below.
