What You Can Expect

As the Software Engineering Director, in Houston, TX or Oakland, CA for ENGIE FlexGen (Flexible Generation including Storage, Thermal and Hydrogen) North America, you will be responsible for contributing to and implementing the technical roadmap, leadership, and supervision of the software engineering group. The Director will be responsible for engineering labor estimates, creation and maintenance of technical specifications, support communication network architectures, and management of internal and external resources in support of FGBU projects. Every day, you will report to the Chief Technology Officer (FBGU) North America managing the Software Engineering Team. Ideally, the director will work closely with other groups to ensure successful implementation, commissioning, and operation of the systems for high availability.

What You'll BringA Bachelor's Degree or higher in management, engineering, science, or technologyAt minimum ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience related to the development, design, and construction of complex energy/electrical projectsAt minimum seven (7) years of direct involvement in the commissioning phase of complex energy/electrical projectsExperience with developing software in embedded platforms, web services, and current programming languages, with controls systems knowledge being a valuable asset to the positionExtensive technical experience on energy storage or renewables projectsKnowledge of systems and data architectures, network and data communications systems, and cyber security principles and technologiesAbility to manage and operate in an agile environment, focused on constant improvement and enhancement through an iterative processAbility to lead, develop, and motivate others

Compensation

Salary Range:

$166,900 - $255,070 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan.
