Description/Job SummaryPosition SummaryReporting to the Nurse Administrator (Associate Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Professionals), the position will assist in organizing and managing the nursing laboratories which include the media center, simulation, and skill labs.

Responsibilities/DutiesMedia CenterProvide oversight and coordination of the media centerAssist in planning of the budget and the selections of audio and visual aids, and internet resourcesCoordinate computer-based tutoring for current and graduate studentsMonitor students during computer-based testing preparing for the NCLEX examMaintain accountability and control of materials and equipment in Media Center and complete inventory formsClinical Simulation Learning CenterProvide oversight and coordination of all aspects of the nursing skills labMaintain human simulators in good working conditionProvide training for faculty and students on lab usage and proceduresCoordinate and maintain computerized scheduling and student tracking systems for the nursing labsWork with the faculty to develop and implement simulations for associate degree and practical nurse certificate students including setting up goals, objectives, and outcome criteria for scenariosAssist with the simulation scenarios set-up, break-down of simulation environmentObtain or develop appropriate simulation scenarios for use with high, medium, and low fidelity mannequinsSupervise students in laboratory and skills testing and evaluate student performanceAssist in planning of the budget and the selections of simulation equipmentPerform inspections for OSHA compliance in the lab and managing inventoryPerform other duties as assigned

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in nursingHold a current unencumbered state professional registered nurse licenseFive years of clinical experience as a registered nurse in Med-Surgery, Pediatric, or Psychiatric NursingPast teaching experience in clinical settingsProficiency with MS Office computer applicationsKnowledge or experience with audio/visual equipment and control softwareOutstanding organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skillsJob requires long hours of standing and walking, lifting, and moving heavy objects
