We are strategically headquartered in Silicon Valley, with team members and office locations established in Perth, Australia, Tokyo, Japan and New Delhi, India that you would collaborate with on a regular basis.Position: Senior Integration Test EngineerWe’re seeking a Senior Integration Test Engineer with a thirst for new technology and innovation to join our talented team here at SafeAI. In this role you’ll be working on testing all aspects of our technology stack from the web interface used to assign missions to the data returned by perception sensors. You’ll be helping our developers quickly test new code on the bench and in the field, as well as conducting end-to-end integration testing to evaluate how our solution will work in customers’ vehicles in Mining and Construction environments. As a Senior Integration Test Engineer you’ll be leading efforts in evaluating new hardware, integrating with new and existing software and writing scripts to analyze performance data and test results in order to deliver robust, complete solutions that exceed customer expectations.Key Responsibilities:Identifying opportunities for improvement at all stages of the product life cycle, working with leadership to drive continuous improvementsWorking with product and engineering teams to understand customer requirements and Operational Design Domains (ODDs) in which SafeAI’s solutions will operateEnsuring that requirements are clear and that the team(s) delivering each element of the system understand what’s needed for the overall solution to be successfully deliveredUnderstanding hardware and software performance needs, working with the Hardware team to source and test suitable platformsIntegrating new hardware and software into the Test Lab and Test VehiclesWorking with Product, Development & QA teams to devise detailed Test Strategies and Test Plans, setting and meeting key milestones for continuous integration & deliveryExecuting end-to-end integration tests, collecting data and log filesWriting tools and scripts to analyze data, facilitating reporting of hardware and software performanceWriting Test Exit Reports detailing results and making recommendations to stakeholders regarding release or next actionsWorking with regional operations teams to ensure thorough training is received on the operation & support of new systems and featuresMentoring junior engineers, helping them to understand autonomous technology and sharing knowledge with other team members to promote collaborationWorking with partners to facilitate installation, commissioning and servicing of equipment on vehiclesConfiguring, updating and maintaining hardware, sensors and toolsManaging the execution of tests, monitoring and reporting results to stakeholdersDeploying new release packages to in-vehicle equipment, smoke & regression testing as appropriateLogging Tasks and Bugs in issue management system(s)Championing & enforcing a safety first approach to design, development, implementation, testing & deploymentWorking in a fast paced Agile environment, encouraging teamwork, and fostering a positive working cultureReporting statistics for KPIs such as manual / automated testing hours, operational hours / downtime etc.Managing release of new integrated feature sets to local and regional teamsTroubleshooting complex issues, working with the team to devise and implement robust long-term solutionsQualifications and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Robotics / Mechatronics or equivalent experienceExperience working in the Autonomous Vehicle Industry5+ years of experience in hardware & software integration & testingExperience working & reporting in Agile development environmentsAn ability to take ownership, investigate and drive issue resolutionExperience authoring clear, concise and comprehensive Test Strategies & ReportsHands-on with tools and experienced in installing test hardware to vehiclesFluency with scripting languages such as JavaScript and PythonExperience integrating and delivering complete feature sets & releasesSound understanding of all 7 layers of the OSI modelExtensive knowledge of Linux CLI, bash scriptingExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Hands-on experience with Electronics (Connecting, measuring, troubleshooting etc.)Sound knowledge of hardware & software QA methodologies, tools and processesA can-do attitude, good sense of humor and ability to work well individually and as part of a team to deliver common goals.Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirementsPreferred Experience:Testing or implementing robotic solutions & applications using ROS2Experience adhering to and documenting to standards such as ISO 26262Strong grasp of Jira and GitLabExperience with PTP radio communications technologyTime synchronization protocols such as NTP, PTP, gPTPExperience with implementation of GNSS solutions using different RTK methodsAuto-electrical knowledge (Wiring, cable routing & shielding, circuit isolation & protection etc.)The base salary range for this position is $110K - $145K per year. SafeAI’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions.
