It is expected that the employee demonstrates behavior consistent with our core values: Integrity, Accountability, Best Practices, Compassion and Synergy. The employee shall support Saddleback Medical Center’s strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.Performs Laboratory testing and/or prepares blood components. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures. This knowledge includes the use of specialized analytical instrumentation, clinical correlation of test results, quality control requirements, and preventative maintenance. Supports the laboratory mission. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process through professional development, continuing education, research and development, and quality assurance.Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the JobAnalyze lab testing with accuracy.Use critical thinking skills.Be organized and detail-oriented.Maintain technical competency.Ability to be at work and be on time.Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives.Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.Ability to prioritize and multitask.This position includes every other weekend and holidays. Experience in Microbiology in a hospital setting is a must. Must be flexible and a team player.Minimum RequirementsQualifications/Work Experience:1-3 years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in an acute care hospital laboratory preferred.Education/Licensure/Certification:Current State of California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License required.
